EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

The DSSSB Special Educator posts require candidates to have specific knowledge to be able to perform certain tasks. Therefore, all candidates must meet the required educational qualifications to be able to perform their tasks to the necessary standards. The educational qualifications required for this post are:

  • Senior Secondary (12th Class or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks from a recognised board/institute.

  • 2-years Diploma programme in Special Education recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India in any Disability or any other equivalent qualification approved by Rehabilitation Council of India

  • Pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

SPECIAL EDUCATION

Special Education, also called special needs education, the education of children who differ socially, mentally, or physically from the average to such an extent that they require modifications of usual school practices. Special education serves children with emotional, behavioral, or cognitive impairments or with intellectual, hearing, vision, speech, or learning disabilities; gifted children with advanced academic abilities; and children with orthopedic or neurological impairments. 

AGE CRITERIA

The DSSSB has given certain guidelines and eligibility criteria for the post of Special Educator. The DSSSB has also given some relaxation in the upper age limit of certain reserved categories. The Age Limit and the Age Relaxation has been mentioned as follows :

    • Minimum age: 18 years

    • Maximum age limit: 30 years

NATIONALITY

As per the official notification released by the DSSSB, the candidate mandatorily needs to be a citizen of India. Moreover, the candidate must have documents supporting their citizenship claims.

ATTEMPTS

The Candidate may appear for as many attempts as they wish. However, all candidates appearing for the examination must be within the age limits mentioned above and need to meet other eligibility criteria.

EXAM PATTERN

  • The exam will be an OMR-type objective examination.

  • The duration of the exam is 2 Hours.

  • The exam will be conducted for a total of 200 Marks.

  • There will be 200 questions from various subjects and each question carries 1 mark.

  • For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
